Work directly with Lindsay to produce a unique piece just for you. What story behind your most treasured photo should be transformed into an original work of art?
Step 1 - Pre-Consultation: We collaborate over a phone call or Zoom to see if our match would be a good fit. What memory do you want to remember? What is the location or subject of your commission? Is it for yourself or a gift? What do you like about my work that you would like to see in your piece?
Step 2 - Proposal: After a 50% deposit and signed contract, initial sketches are delivered. If needed, we then work together to design your ideal color combination and composition until a final sketch is achieved.
Step 3 - Work Begins: You can expect your original artwork to be finished between 4 weeks to 3 months. After completion, the final 50% is due and work will be delivered. Those living within 20 miles of Chicago will receive free delivery. Those living farther will cover the additional cost of shipping.
What do you mean by “collaborate”?
A pre-consultation offers the opportunity to discuss how your hopes, dreams, and important memories can be combined with the unique skills of a particular visual artist.
What is required to commission?
Before any brainstorming, planning, or sketching begins the following three things are required:
1. A pre-consultation (Zoom, in person, or over the phone)
2. A 50% deposit
3. A signed contract
Do you work from photographs?
Yes! You will email 1-3 photos that capture the essence of the subject (person or place). I also work in mixed media and can physically incorporate other materials (papers, fabrics, objects) into the piece.
What is a typical price range for a commission and how long is the process?
At current writing, 2D work is offered in three sizes (12x12, 16x20, 24x24) and prices range from $750-$1,350 based on complexity of the design. This price covers consultations, planning, materials, and time spent creating the final piece. Similar to pricing, the time it takes to create a commission varies based on the intricacy of the piece. A typical duration could be anywhere from 4 weeks - 3 months.
